For small business owners, securing a contract with a key client can be a game-changer, propelling their business to new heights. Mrs. Edith Morales, owner of ERM Safety, Inc., a women-owned company specializing in creating safe and healthy work environments, has achieved this rewarding milestone not once, but twice. With proven expertise in occupational health, Mrs. Morales had previously secured a contract with the Puerto Rico Army National Guard in 2019, with the assistance of the Federal Contracting Center (FeCC).
Demonstrating her unwavering determination and resilience, Mrs. Morales once again pursued a similar opportunity with the same agency in May 2022. Recognizing the value of expert guidance, she re-engaged with FeCC counselor Adriana Acarón. FeCC provided comprehensive support throughout the process, offering specific information, bid submission assistance, and readily available communication via phone, email, and virtual meetings. This dedicated support proved invaluable. As Mrs. Morales stated, “The help of the Federal Contracting Agency has been vital to me. From making and updating the registration with SAM, to receiving training and one-on-one meetings to ensure that the required items of the solicitation is completed, they were there for me. The staff at the Federal Contracting Agency has always been very professional and their responses have been quick and accurate”.
Thanks to this vital partnership with FeCC, Mrs. Morales and ERM Safety, Inc. were successfully awarded the contract—a testament to her dedication and the impactful support provided by the FeCC. This second contract with the Puerto Rico Army National Guard not only signifies a significant achievement for ERM Safety, Inc. but also underscores the FeCC’s crucial role in empowering small businesses to navigate the complexities of federal contracting and achieve sustainable success. Mrs. Morales further emphasized the importance of the FeCC’s ongoing support, stating that it helps ensure compliance with necessary documentation while working together with the federal government agency to deliver 100% of the contracted services.
